WELCOME! - For the month of July, we welcome Rev. Rudolf (Rudy) Kampia to serve in our pulpit and at our altar. Pastor Kampia worked as a draftsman and machine designer before being "called" into Pastoral Ministry. He is a 1973 graduate from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. He has served Redeemer Luth. Ch. in Sidney Ohio, St. Matthew Luth. Ch. and School in Pittsburgh, PA, and retired from Redeemer Luth. Ch. and Concordia Luth. School in Hyattsville, MD. He married Judy Drebes in 1970. Pastor and Mrs. Kampia have four children and twelve grandchildren. The Kampia’s enjoy classical and choral music, gardening and hiking (especially in the western Rockies and National Parks all over the USA).


VBS Registration is NOW! - Galilee's 2018 "SHIPWRECKED! Rescued by Jesus" is now open for registration!
VBS will be held the mornings of July 30-Aug. 3 from 9 am-noon. Children who have completed 3’s preschool – fifth grade are invited to sign-up at https://vbspro.events/p/events/galileepasadena18.

VBS Crew Leaders Needed - We are thankful for all the youth and adults who have already signed up to help with VBS, but we are still specifically looking for Crew Leaders.
These volunteers lead mixed age groups from station to station, being that guiding presence as the participants learn about being rescued by Jesus.
We are seeking volunteers who love hanging out with kids! The position does not require much prep other than being present each day!

Take 'Flat Jesus' Along this Summer - Take ‘Flat Jesus’ along - We want to see where you go this summer!
You can create your own “Flat Jesus,” similar to “Flat Stanley” from the famous children’s book. Then take him as you travel this summer!
Whether you are at the beach, visiting family or a guest at an out-of-state church, we’d like to see that. So take your “Flat Jesus” with you and take a selfie with Him!
Post the photo on Facebook and tag “Galilee Lutheran Church, Pasadena MD” or email/print it and share it with us!

2018 LMS CRAB FEAST - Join us for the Annual Crab Feast to benefit LMS Compassion Place Ministries on Saturday, August 25th from 3:00 PM till 6:00 PM. The crab feast will be held at Annapolis Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W Central Ave, Edgewater, MD 21037 (rain or shine) in its comfortable air-conditioned fellowship hall.
Menu includes Crabs, Hot Dogs, Corn-on-the-Cob, Coleslaw, Watermelon and Beverages. Adults - $50.00 in advance, $55.00 at the door (Advance tickets must be purchased by August 21st); Youth (ages 9-13) - $20.00; Children (ages 8 and under) – Free. Food Donations Needed - Thank you to Galilee for your continued support for the food bank at North County Emergency Outreach Network.
Food has been distributed as it comes in, last year at this time, food valued at $68,000 had been distributed. As of this year, $75,000 has been distributed to date.
Especially needed is sugar, boxed spaghetti and pasta sauce, boxed stuffing, instant potatoes. canned chili, sloppy joe sauce, canned fruit, canned mixed vegetables, pork and beans, canned potatoes, canned ham, tuna, chicken and Spam, canned gravy, small jars of peanut butter, canned milk, and powdered milk.


Plan Ahead for the Fall! - Life Light Bible Study coming in the Fall will study the book of Romans. Beginning Monday, Sep. 10 at 7 pm in the portable classroom, the nine-week study covers Chapters 1 – 7 and will be led by Barb Schwarz.
Materials for the class cost $10 and include a Study Guide and an Enrichment Magazine. LifeLight is both an individual and group study.

Ignite Your Faith - Young Adults Study - A Bible study/discussion will be held Tuesdays, the summer from 7:30-8:30 pm at Galilee for adults ages 17 – 31. This time of fellowship and study will be led by Matt Santos and Chris Meier. If you are interested in attending, please contact Matt Santos (443-996-2414; matts6262@gmail.com).


Interested in Joining Galilee? - Are you interested in learning more about becoming a member at Galilee?
Director of Discipleship Emily Phoenix facilitates the new member process and would love to help you!
This summer, this option will only be available from those transferring from a Lutheran congregation or reactivating membership as a Lutheran. Our adult inquiry class is offered in the fall and spring for those who would be joining from other Christian faiths or have previously not been a member of a church.

NECEON Needs Volunteers North County Emergency Outreach Network (NCEON) continues to be in need of volunteers to interview clients. We are open Mon/Wed/Fri from 10 am to 2 pm. Volunteers can select a day of the week they would like to work and cover either a 2 hour shift or the full 4 hour shift.
Volunteers will receive the necessary training and will work with a partner until they feel comfortable in the position. Please contact Bill Roesler at our email address Nceonglenburnie@gmail.com to setup a meeting time.


Serve at OGT - The Maryland Branch of Orphan Grain Train (OGT) is looking for volunteers to serve in its warehouse at 621 East-West Blvd., Millersville.
OGT gathers, sorts, stores and sends donated goods: clothing and shoes, medical supplies and durable goods, church and school supplies, and emergency needs, nationally and world-wide.
